Thank Tennessee lawmakers for supporting education freedom!

In January, Tennessee made history by passing the Education Freedom Act, providing universal school choice to families across the state.

This landmark legislation ensures that parents, regardless of their background or zip code, can select the best educational environment for their children.

For 14 years, Beacon has fought for educational choice, believing parents should guide their children’s education. Beacon filed its first school choice bill in the legislature in 2011.

This is a historic moment for families. 

We are grateful for Gov. Lee, Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, Speaker Cameron Sexton, Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson, and House Majority Leader William Lamberth for their unwavering leadership on this important issue.

This achievement would not have been possible without their commitment to improving outcomes and opportunities for all students. Their partnership—and that of every legislator who stood up and voted to empower parents—was crucial in bringing this legislation to life, and now Tennessee families will benefit for generations to come.
